Anybody know what happened to the Indiana Ghost Hunters site? Is it off the air? Under Construction? Is it just me?

Nope. It's me too.
I asked Barrettm95 what had happened and he told me that he's not sure either.
Nate kind of vanished. He's not on here anymore (his account is not active).
I've been wondering what had happened. It was a good board and I hope it's not gone forever.

Yeah it's wierd, it's just kind of gone. I hope it's not going to disappear either, it was a good board with a lot of helpful people and information. No one kept in touch with Nate through MSN, AIM or anything like that?

Hmmm, well I guess we'll just have to ride this old gal until the board is back up. The administration here is never present, I don't think they even check in. Nate asked them to let him take over but they never responded. I wrote Nate an email but haven't heard back from him yet. I hope the ghosties haven't got him.

Do any of you guys from Nate's forum remember the intersection the shoe tree in Southern Indiana was located?

Thanks for the directions. Just got back from there, and it's a lot creepier than I thought it would be. E Knight Rd is pretty harsh with potholes, very small poorly mainted concrete bridges, and the woods on either side are loaded with crossing deer. The trip was kind of improvised at the last minute so I didn't get to take my digital camera like usual, although my friend had his Sony DV camera with nightshot he only had about 6 minutes left on his DVR he had, so we couldn't document the whole trip as we would've liked.
Anyway we showed up the first time around dusk, and found the tree, or I should say trees. When you first look you just see the one dead tree that obviously has shoes tied to the remaining branches, but after looking around you discover that there are hundreds of pairs of shoes covering trees all over the intersection. I've actually just learned that hard winds have recently just been through the area, and there used to be about twice the number of shoes up in the trees then that are up there now, and you can tell as lots of shoes litter the ground along the side of the road. So after we investigated a little in the light and got our bearings around the area we got back in the car and went to a gas station to grab a drink and head back when nightfall was in full effect. We didn't really see anything unusual, but it kind of always feels like there's eyes on you watching. Another creepy thing on E Knight Rd is right before you hit the intersection is what appears to be a junk yard, it is clearly visible from Google maps, and there's just an abandoned old house that's on the verge of collapse on the property on the opposite side of the road of where you see all the old cars that are lined up.
I'll post the video here after we change the format so we can edit it a little, and upload it onto You Tube.

One member from the other board told that a bunch of them were on their way to shoe tree and they passed a little girl, in the middle of the night and when they went back she was gone. True story. Heh.

Yeah I remember the story, it's what got me interested in finding the place. I've heard about people seeing a little boy as well, but there are a decent amount of houses on E Knight RD so it wouldn't be that unusual for someone to be walking along there.
Although as soon as I turned right off of E Knight onto the gravel part of Devil's Hollow Rd I got a sinking feeling in my stomach as if something was watching me and I wasn't supposed to be there. I stopped the car and my friend said he didn't want to go either down it either, so I just threw it into reverse back to the intersection. After looking on Google Maps it doesn't appear the road really goes anywhere, just ends at either Shaffer Ridge Rd or possibly I-64. I guess I'll have to force myself to check it out next time.

My friend finally uploaded the footage from the trip we took out there, edited it, and posted it on You Tube. The next video will be more like an investigation as opposed to this one, which was just kind of a summary of the trip with some music. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb4vC8mn1AU

Heh. Hahah...I think that was me. My friend goes to college in Kentucky and long story short, some of her friends went here, saw a bunch of crazy things and left with a pair of shoes. Well...bad idea. So they had to make another trip out there to return the shoes. This is another one that I added to the list of "places to see in Southern Indiana."

It's a pretty cool place, but I'm not sure I'd say there's any paranormal activity going on. I'm not sure how your friend's group found this place if they weren't specifically looking for it, it's out in the middle of nowhere.

Neither do I.
I think they were looking for stuff to do and decided on finding a scary place.
According to them, when they saw the girl walking they freaked out. And the whole vibe about that place gave them the creeps.
Not too sure why they decided to take a pair of shoes. This was probably their first haunted place they've been to and (being a group of guys and all) probably dared another guy to take a pair of shoes.

Yeah, the feeling you get when you're there is not something good.
They must've been going down the gravel part of Devil's Hollow, that's the only road I'd get freaked out by if I saw a girl walking since all the others have a good amount of houses along them. Hell I got a bad enough vibe off that road alone that I couldn't even drive down it.
I know a guy who has relatives out there, and he says that every once and a while when they past the intersection they bring an old pair of shoes to throw up there. I'm not sure how that could bring about paranormal activity, but it still wasn't a good idea to take them. I mean, what the hell are you going to do with an old pair of mildewed shoes?
