To help out, the investigators went to the wrong side of Primrose. There is a paved section with subdivisions, but if you go past those, you get to a dirt section about half a mile long, which ends at Adams Road. There is a pond, although its more like a swamp... My friends and I go out there all the time, and sometimes things happen, and sometimes not. There's lots of rumors and stories, and I have personally witnessed a lot of weird stuff on the road, and so have the people I go there with. You want more info, contact me via e-mail.

Actually we went all the way down the road and back atleast twice, i can't remeber the excact amount since it's been almost a year. The road is only 2 or 3 miles long so it's not like it's a long drive. The dirt part is like going through a forest. All we saw were trees and more trees. Since it was dark outside we were unable to see the pond, or swamp as you call it. When you say things happen what do you mean? Do you see a ghost or hear something? Anyway as far as I am concerned Primrose Road is just a normal road.

Well, we've seen eyes in the woods. We've also stopped the car and something skittered up it and when we left there were scratches on the car that weren't there before. Also, the hill at the end near Adams, we got pushed up it while the brakes were on. The brakes were grinding, and when we got home, there were two big handprints on the back windshield. There's a lot of times I've gone out there and nothing happened, but then there are the nights that I've been so scared I just wanted to leave. Angie

Here's what we went to Primrose for:
1. South Bend - St. Joseph - Primrose Rd. - If you go down Primrose at a speed less than 20mph your tires of your car will get slashed. If you go over the speed of 30mph the car will just die. Either way if either things happen you will have to walk. They say if you have a cell phone there will be no signal. While you are walking down Primrose you will hear strange ghostly noises and see things. They say ghosts appear and talk to you, telling you to turn around and go back to the car because there is danger. They also say that the old farmhouse will appear and if you walk up to it an old lady will answer the door in a white night gown. She is claimed to be the lady of luck. They say if she invites you in that your luck will become better, but if she rejects you, when you go back to your car it won't be there.
2. South Bend - St. Joseph - Primrose Rd. - Blood Rock - along with what it said above about primrose...they cleared out a section of the woods and built a housing development there. at the entrance there is a pond on the left, there is a huge rock in the middle of the pond. the rock is called "blood rock". this huge rock mysteriously has been moved to different places.
3. South Bend - St. Joseph - Primrose Rd. - off of old Cleveland Rd. - is haunted by 3 or 4 things, one is a phantom farmhouse that appears. The house doesn't appear long enough to get close enough to investigate. You can also see the eyes in the woods occasionally, but infrequently. More than likely, you will hear the clomping of a horse or horses, and occasionally glimpse one moving from one side of the woods to the other behind your car. It is also rumored that occult rituals were performed on the lake on the west side of the road, and a woman was sacrificed and deposited into the recesses of the lake. Witnesses claim to have seen her on the night that she was murdered going through the ritual again. There is an immense sense of sadness near the lake that is almost overpowering.
Here's what happened:
1. Nothing 2. Couldn't find 3. Nothing
So that's why we think Primrose is stupid and nothing special.
That's pretty cool though how your car got pushed. If something like that would have happened to us we would have a different opinion. If you have any pictures or ever take any pictures let us know. We would love to see them.

alright, can't wait to see some pictures. all of ours showed nothing but a normal road. if you get a picture of something good we might have to go back to Primrose Road.
Also, did you guys go check out the cemetery just down the road from Primrose? We had a lot of success there. It's probably one of the oldest cemeteries we have been to.

;D Sonds creepy.I don't know of any roads in my area that have such stories. I live near San Antonio and have been over the famous tracks at various times over the years only in daylight though. You may have gone one of those times when nothing happens.Ghosts sometimes don't always appear when we want them to.

me and 2 of my friends too have had strange happenings at primrose. first time i went (they had been there many times before) my friend's arm went paralyzed and i thought he was just messing with me but then my hand went completely numb. then in the car a lil later we were about half way down the dirt part and it felt like something was squeezing my chest i couldn't breathe. we too have seen eyes in the woods and heard things. one time they (my two friends) dropped me off at the stop point (somewhere near the middle) and left me there alone it was icy cold in front of me and warm behind me i felt something enter me and i was in a weird daze for the next couple days. we have also taken some pictures on that road that reveal quite an array of orbs, if i can get it scanned i'll send it in. that is my account of primrose rd. take it or leave it. i would also like to say that i think this site is cool as hell and i respect you guys alot for pursuing this topic. as for me and my comrades we will continue to investigate the road and will report any findings. and DraggonGrrl, perhaps i shall see you out there some time.

LOL I just saw this and had to respond. ;D
Primrose road was a favorite spot when I was in High School. This was between 1990 and 1994. There are some crazy things about this place however many things have changed over time. I must have driven down this road over 30 times and was even in an accident on the road when some friends ran into the back of my car. For starters Blood Rock when I saw it was at the end of the dirt road near Adams I believe. It was a white rock that would get painted over because people would place grafitti on it. One Halloween night we went there and there were some creepy girls sitting on the rock. The weirdest part is that an opossum was walking around on the ground near them and was not scared of them at all! That same night there were many cars parked along the road and we were even "chased" out by a car that would flash its lights on and off. I have since moved away from South Bend however recently when I went back to visit the road the rock was moved. Then there are the other stories. The swamp on the one side that we would hear stories of. People claimed that empty cars were always found nearby and that the police had no idea how many bodies were in that marsh. One of my friends said that there used to be an old shack that has since been torn down that had dead animals nailed to it! I think the scariest thing about that road however is when it gets foggy. There was a night that I was with my friends and we were slowly driving down the road. We all fealt the truck move at one point and we all thought we saw a person in the road where we had been as my friend drove off fast. It was very frightening. I think what scares me the most is that there was even more and I would go into it however I would like to save some space lol. This road was notorious when I was in school and I am not surprised to hear that in some ways it still is. My question is where did you guys hear about the speed and tire troubles and the old lady of luck? I have never heard of that. I just do not think I could dismiss this place. It is just weird. To also claim that it is just a road is something that I am sure many locals would disagree with. Out of the many times I traveled down this road there were at least 5 or more times that very odd things happened. Oh well just my two cents. Great website!

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Sounds like you've had some pretty cool experiences there. We got the story from someone submitting it to our website. Like it says in our investigation, we figured that the car wouldn't mess up but we thought as long as we were there we would try. After reading your story it makes me want to go back and check it out again.

Hello. I registered for the sole purpose of dispelling the rumor that Primrose Road is bunk.
But before I do that, I'd like to explain a few things. First, I am a skeptic in the sense that I do not believe people's stories unless it's proven to me. Second, my intuition is usually very strong, and I've learned that if I don't heed it... that is not such a good idea. I am sensitive to the paranormal. And third, I'm not a professional investigator. I don't have equipment and I have better luck letting my senses guide me.
Every time I go looking on the net for new haunted places in my area, I always run into the description you posted. Whoever wrote that... I want to kick them in the head.
I've been there scores of times (I used to live down the street, which was also haunted) before even reading any external account, so here's my analysis:
* If you go down Primrose at a speed less than 20mph your tires of your car will get slashed. If you go over the speed of 30mph the car will just die.
False, obviously. I've driven there with myself, with friends, and no one I know had anything happen to their car.
* They say if you have a cell phone there will be no signal.
I've never tried this. I haven't even heard that one.
* While you are walking down Primrose you will hear strange ghostly noises and see things.
I've "heard noises" and "saw things". Examples: A friend of mine heard children singing from deep in the woods about halfway though. I didn't. I and two friends heard an inhuman howl/shriek over by the swamp... Possibly, it could've been an animal though my instincts tell me that there was something very wrong about whatever that was. Never has the blood in my veins run so cold... we literally ran back to the car.
* They say ghosts appear and talk to you, telling you to turn around and go back to the car because there is danger.
Ha... doubtful. I've no doubt that there is danger for those sensitive to the paranormal, but I nor has anyone I know ever seen a ghost out there. "Feeling", however, is a different story but I'll come back to that.
* They also say that the old farmhouse will appear and if you walk up to it an old lady will answer the door in a white night gown. She is claimed to be the lady of luck.
"They say"... Who are "they"? No one I know has ever claimed anything about "lady of luck". I get a little defensive about this one, because its ludicrous.
However, I can attest to the part about the farmhouse. The second time I went out there I was surprised that there wasn't a farmhouse there, because I saw it the first time (a little ways into the field on the right at the end of the street after the trees clear).
* the rock is called "blood rock". this huge rock mysteriously has been moved to different places.
I've got no clue about this one. I know people who've claimed to have seen it, but I honestly don't remember if I have. If I did, it was at the end of the street, on the corner on the left.
* You can also see the eyes in the woods occasionally, but infrequently.
I've never seen eyes, but once... I saw red lights in the treetops. They would seem to blink in and out, and never in the same place twice. I'd say that is the only physically creepy thing that I've seen, unless you count peripheral shadows which is definitely not limited to Primrose. Actually, there is an entire 10-15 mile radius in South Bend that seems to be heavily populated with paranormal activity.
* More than likely, you will hear the clomping of a horse or horses, and occasionally glimpse one moving from one side of the woods to the other behind your car.
Never.
* It is also rumored that occult rituals were performed on the lake on the west side of the road, and a woman was sacrificed and deposited into the recesses of the lake. Witnesses claim to have seen her on the night that she was murdered going through the ritual again.
I've heard the stories, and a friend of a friend found a human bone there. So who knows? It seems to me that Satanic rituals are performed more in areas that are desolate and people have nothing better to do with their time. Bored? Worship Satan! Invoke some demons! Ha...
* There is an immense sense of sadness near the lake that is almost overpowering.
Actually, it's the trees that always get to me... for some reason I always seem to think they're in pain.
I've never concentrated on the swamp. Every time I've been out there, I always end up focusing on... hard to explain. About half way though, perhaps a little before, I usually feel something sinister deep into the woods. It's not human, it could be either a "gate" or... merely some malevolent presence. It also always seemed to be aware of us. I'm usually pretty stoic, but that place... freaks me out.
One other thing. The night I saw the red lights and we heard the shriek/thing whatever is out there was extremely active. Other times, it just seems like a normal street and nothing happens.
I know this is long but you people seem to be interested, so I'm just writing to attest that there is something out there. If you ever decide to go back, I could lead you to certain places that the most activity, but I can't promise that things happen every night, because they don't.
