The reason I am posting to this older thread is because its the most comprehensive with good info contributed by people who lived near or visited this place way back when. Good threads should not die Sensitive people say this place gives bad vibes or psychic energy. You really need to stay awhile and keep quiet in order for something to happen to you. Personally I am as psychically sensitive as a clod of dirt, which is why these places don't bother me. That doesn't mean I won't stop trying to find a ghost. ;) These are some manual exposure photos Spooky pic of the forest This is mud lake- where human sacrifice took place, . . . maybe

photos continued... I think this tree branch is cool looking Is this frozen breath, or spiritual turbulence? . . . I am being contacted from beyond. . . A spooky tree Honestly dont know about these lights, probably from houses My curiosity has forced me to explore mud lake itself. I am looking for the ghost of the sacrificed women. Walking over some junk on my way down Here is where I fell through the ice. ;D This tree is eating a sign If anyone else has things to add, please share. Tell us something. Lie if you have to. It's all good as long as it humors me. hope you enjoyed.

Great photos, always was curious as to what the real Primrose looked like. The snow and bare trees makes it look so desolate and eerie.

I just wanted to say that the stories of primrose have been going on for many, many years. When I was in grade school my sisters used to take me out there late at night to try to scare the crap out of me. I never did see anything out of the ordinary, other than feeling incredibly uneasy. They would dare you to get out of the car and touch blood rock which at that time sat at the end of the road on Adams road. The only thing odd about the rock was all the paint all over it. The rumor back then was that the entire road was haunted. And one night a guy and his girlfriend went out there, I guess doing what we all do, trying to catch a glimpse of something. Somewhere in the night the guy supposedly went crazy, something taking him over, and killed his girlfriend on the rock. I've never looked into how much was actually true. Now, I've been there dozens of times and still have yet to see anything. It is a beautiful road in the fall though, at least during the day it is.

Has anyone been there recently? They are bulldozing either a part or the rest of the wooded area of Primrose. If they tear down the whole thing for more housing complexes, that would kind of suck.
As far as seeing anything, I think I caught a glimpse of the red "eyes." I'm not sure if it was anything supernatural or not, but I remember being there one night with some friends and I looked up high and saw a couple of red sparks. Could of just been stars in the sky, or what not, but when I saw them I thought of the theory of the red eyes mentioned here.

If all these places are being torn down, for example Primrose, do you think people who live on the street ever experience anything out of the ordinary? I was discussing this with a friend the other day and she wondered the same thing.

It's possible paranormal activity could still occur on the developed land. In Henryville people report paranormal occurences in the houses near Dan's Run.

Today I decided to take another drive through Primrose, and Adams St. Cemetary. I actually stopped and went in the cemetary... and the discription on here was right-- the tombstones are really old. I saw one where a person died in the mid-1800's. It's too bad the tombstones weren't kept up, there were a lot that couldn't be read off of. I need to go there at night sometimes and take some snapshots to see if I can capture any orbs or some unexplained phenomena

I have been on this road many of times. I attest to what "anima" says when she states that she feels saddened by the trees. When you start out on this road its nothing but, about half way down the road its an overwhelming feeling of saddness and it is the trees. Other than that, nothing has ever happened to me or anyone that was with me.....oh yes, except for one halloween we had her "dobi" with us and some guy wearing a mask jumped out at my car and the dog went balistic on him......really wanted out of my car to tear him up...ha ha ...at the end of the road take a right on adams rd and just a little ways down the road on the left there is a cemetery that is real interesting. Very very old grave stones along with new ones. Cell phones were fine on the road and cemetery. Video camera was fine as well. NOW, if you want to experience something scary try PRIMROSE rd off of I believe rt 4...same road that potato creek is on...another primrose rd is off of that one......looking for the one you are talking about we ended up on this one instead (made a mistake) but things happened to us. It is also a dirt road. When we were driving slowly down this road an owl flew out of a tree right on the side of the road and landed right in the middle of this road and staired at us. I stopped my car and it would not move for a while. Finally I started to drive and try to go around the owl and it flew up and hit my car then went back into the tree. As we drove down this road we looked up and the moon was HUGE and red..not orange..but RED. We turned around and went back to the main road. When we got on the main road we looked at the moon and it was white ....it was a full moon but it did not look as large as it did when we were on this road and the color changed. Now that was interesting!!!!!

OK for one the real primrose is not or even by South Bend it is in fact located in the state park of potato creek witch as i stated some were else is blocked off if you go 2 miles into the road and look to your left you will see a rock that looks to be bleeding and go about a 1/2 a mile you will come to the Primerose cemutary that is all run down. you will experience things that can be explained and see orbs(with cameras also) and aparentines this i will vouch for seeing when i first found out were the real location was from my grandparents who went there in there younger days befor the state park was built I am wondering if the Primrose cemetery in Potato Creek is the same as the Porter-Rea Cemetery? Some of the first black inhabitants (non-slave) of Northern Indiana are buried here. This marker is located at the intersection of Oak Road and SR 4, near the entrance to the park.

I actually went looking for the Primrose part that is said to be at Potato Creek. I followed the directions as given and I did not find anything. I walked a good portion of that park and did not see anything like what was described. I did go to the porter-rea cemetery and did not get anything there.

If you search the area on Microsoft Live Maps you can see where Primrose was blocked off at New Road when Potato Creek SP was created and that the remains of the old Primrose still exist in the Park.

Here is the intersection of New Road and Primrose in St. Joseph County. I would love to investigate the "old" Primrose beyond the gate in Potato Creek State Park.
