I went out to Potato Creek State Park again this weekend, because I wanted to be sure of my findings before I posted anything. The Primrose section that is out there is all covered up with vegetation and trees. I used my GPS to make and follow a systematic grid so I would not miss anything. I walked at 10 ft intervals for 50 feet on both sides of the old road and found nothing. I was looking for anything that might resemble a Cemetery or anything close. I found nothing. Also before I left, I looked at a Geological Survey of the area and if there was a Cemetery it would have been marked. Also by state law, if there is a cemetery on public land, it has to be maintained and access must be provided. After going through all this Iam going to have to say that there is nothing going on at Potato Creek State Park

Ok, so like the other poster in the forum I created this account specifically for this subject. First off there is a Cemetary in Potato Creek State park and here are the google map coordinates to prove it "41.549388,-86.352728" Second, no it's not on Primrose road. There's nothing whatsoever disturbing about the road outside of the park other than maybe the dog that likes to bark at passing cars and run up at them. Also Potato creek is technically in North Liberty and this portion of Primrose might be as well or apart of Lakeville OR just apart of St. Joe county in general.
Now the Primrose road that is off of Nimtz Parkway/Old Cleveland/Brick rd. I have visited maybe a dozen times as it was a fun thing to do in high school because well.... there isn't much to do in the Michiana area. In high school 3 friends and myself spent about 4 hours in that area, most of the time on the hill at the end of the road where the house is supposed to appear. You see the best stories I've ever heard about the road all took place during the day. Save for one story.
A friend of mine who works for Notre Dame, and directed one of our school plays in high school while she was a Grad student, apparently had an incident there. Her story was corroborated by my godparent's son. While they were home visiting from Ball State, during her undergrad, they went out there for a few laughs. They made their way down to the marsh and were preparing to leave when she claims to have seen a woman in the water (this story is the only time I had ever heard anything about people in that body of water and they gave no explanation or lore) my friend said she thought the woman was drowning and attempted to swim out to her getting so much as waist deep before her friends pleading with her dragged her out. They promptly of course drove home and she refuses to go back to Primrose. Nobody with her group, including my "god-brother" saw the woman she claimed was there.
I've heard accounts of animals nailed to trees, bleeding pentagrams, car marks in enclosed places, and piles of children's abandoned backpacks, all during the day. We didn't see anything as we walked down the street but illegally dumped washers and refrigerators. We did not go into the wooded areas because that IS private property and the embankment down to the marsh looked steep. We stayed until shortly after nightfall on that hill. The scariest thing I've seen on that road was a drug deal.
About the house that's meant to have the "Lady of Luck" on the hill well that was a popular one, only when I was an adolescent we were told to turn off the lights at the stop sign. I have seen that house and so have friends. It is the outline of trees that make a shadowy house-like outline. That's right I said it. ITS TREES. But it actually looks pretty neat.
I always heard rumors of cults and covens in the area practicing rituals out there but the Wiccans I've had acquaintance with and the few Satanists didn't and wouldn't practice on someone else's property without the owner's expressed permission and knowledge.
Finally the scariest account I've heard involving Primrose was from a friend in High School. This took place in I think the school year of 04/05 however I can't be certain. She was interviewed for the school paper after the police said that there was nothing they could do. She lived in an older subdivision on the southside of South Bend. On her way to work at a stop sign in her neighborhood she noticed a man walking in the direction of the passenger side of her vehicle. She took no notice because people walk around that neighborhood all the time, I know this because not only did she state it but my sister and her ex-husband lived in that subdivision when this occured. She was turning left and waiting for a car to pass on her left side (this man was walking from the right side) she said she didn't hear the door open but she did hear it close. He got into her passenger's seat and told her to drive. She was terrified so she did. He told her when and where to turn and she remaind quiet the entire time. She thought that if she sped way over the speed limit she would be pulled over but wasn't. Finally they arrived at Primrose (near the swamp) the man got out and she sped off before the door had closed. She arrived unharmed in a mutual friend's driveway sobbing.
She wasn't threatened with violence and he didn't have a visible weapon so the police did nothing. But the moral of the story is just be careful if you go out there. Orbs in photos and ghost stories aside people do go out there, deal narcotics , carry weapons, and can potentially harm you. I find the type of person who might kidnap or sell illegal substances much more terrifying than the stupid stories about ghosts.

So I went out to Primrose on Halloween. I did nothing but observe and write down everything that I saw. I tried to take a scientific mindset when I went out there. With that in mind I made sure that I was completely hidden and nobody would see me. By remaining hidden I thought this was the best way to get an accurate account what I would see.
The only thing I saw was people going out there to get scared. I saw people walking down the road singing the Bingo song, I saw car after car driving real slow hoping to see something. I saw the people in the woods who had the glow sticks going. (People after my own heart) I saw group after group of young high school age guys walking down the road, doing their best not to act scared. As though walking down Primrose on Halloween is some type of rite of passage. I was out there for a good while and I didn't see anything.
This has not been my first time out there on Halloween and as I put in a previous post I have seen an unexplainable blue light in the woods. While this year I saw it again and I figured out that it is coming from a nearby farm. I was able to use my GPS and plot a line that runs right into a farm. I was glad to be able to figure this out.
I cannot say this enough. PRIMROSE IS NOT HAUNTED. It is a pure urban myth that has been passed down from generation to generation. Ive even gone as far as to do a public records search for that area. Nothing. Nobody has been killed out there. There have been no police reports of animals killed. There has been nothing out there. It is all a PURE MYTHS. Its like a game of telephone that children play in grade school, the story is always different at the end as compared to the beginning. Ive talked to a lot of people about the rumors that surround Primrose and its always " It happened to my sisters, cousin friend" but then if you go and ask that person they will say they heard it from somebody else. I guess all urban legends get started this way.
I can say that Primrose is a beautiful area, both day and night. It has lots of deers, squirrels and other wildlife. But I also know that PRIMROSE IS NOT HAUNTED. This is just urban legends at their best.

I saw it there with two of my friends, I don't think we were looking for it in particular but when we were there we did see a cemetery.

Some friends and I went out to Primrose last night, we had a group of about 8. We didn't stay on the road we passed the cemetary and then we took a left and we were at this really creepy house. It was all boarded up and the front door was open so we got flashlights and went in. We walked through the house and nothing paranormal happened. Everyone heard a bunch of stories about the house but none of them were true. The only scary thing about the house is that there was a red cross on the back door but that could've been from some other people. We also found some old newspapers from the 1950's.

The old farm house that is mentioned in the last post is nothing more then that. Just an old farm house. That is actually part of the land that has been sold to developers as part of the portage prairie development site. Up until out 2-3 years ago the house was lived in.

& actually theres a house to primrose . it goes with the story , it's right next to mud lake. if you take primrose straight down on the dirt road you take a right and take it straight down till you see a big white house on your left side of the street . i believe theres about 4 sheds , and a farm. i've only been to the house once & decided not to go back after what happened to me ,and a freind . i went in the mornin about a year ago and we walked in the house . my hands were in my pockets the whole time not touching anything . we walked in to one room and it was hard to breathe . like my lungs couldnt get enouch air to function . and again it was in the summer about 80% and it's freezing cold in the house the windows are even broke so it made no sense to me. i walked down to the basement alone and heard things being thrown i ran outside and got back in the car . my hands felt wet , and i had blood . a cut on every finger . it was the most scariest thing ever happened to me . i've never been back sense, but this summer i'm going back once again .

the story behind primrose is that apparently the lady she saw in the mud lake was the teacher of a bunch of toddlers i believe and she went crazy one day while she was driving the bus full of kids . and crashed . then began to hang every kid one by one on the trees above mud lake . then drownd herself . i think it may have been alchol that made her like that in the house theres alchol bottles like whisky from 1980s and stuff . and the reason they call it mudd creek is kuz the blood of the kids went down into the creek. but , the only thing i've exsperiencced was my freind going insane , like he was posest. and i came outta the house with my hands bleeding from random cuts on my fingers . and trouble breathing .

I havent been here in a long while. This thread is the most comprehensive source of info on primrose/adams road cemetery I can find. The posts from long ago by people who grew up around there and experienced the stuff when it was actually happening is priceless knowledge. The sad part is all the new bs involved here. As you can see no parts of this place have been logged/cut down and the urban sprawl has stopped. I cant for the life of me seem to find this mystery farm house. . .? ? ? Lots of people here claim to have seen AND been inside it but its not on the maps. . . what gives? Now we know what that ancient cemetery looks like. Its in somebodys sideyard - i wonder if they get a property tax credit? I have no idea what you are talking about. There is no such house on primrose road next to the lake. Your info is very interesting and I wish it were true but your directions dont make any sense Now there IS an abandoned white farmhouse on orange road off of adams road. Is this what all of you have been talking about? Its not even close to the lake or the woods though. Im old enough to remember that during the 1970s 80s 90s it was popular to mess around in occult stuff. The stories of rituals, sacrifice, murder and no doubt drug use, sex, theft, fights etc that happened in the area, well, there is probably some truth to that. Problem is it happened so long ago and there was no internet at that time. Im afraid that primrose road's best days as a haunted place are in the past. Like I said, the very best info comes from people who knew the area decades ago, who know its history and can tell us which legends are actually true and why. I bet the potawatomi tribe has some legends on the location. I've read accounts of psychics who describe some kind of vortex or doorway that exists in the woods by the lake and it draws spiritual energies to itself. Has anyone ever been in the hanging house? Or the old school that is out in Primrose area, close to where the tire rack is now? i have lots of story's from when I was a teen I would like to share, if this is still going? Anyone here? Yes, do tell. We are all writing history by sharing stories. I know that this forum is basically dead, but people do visit this site, even if they hardly post anything new.
