We have never been there, but from what we have heard it is supposed to be one of Indiana's most haunted places. It is currently tied for first on our list of haunted places, so some people must feel this way. If you have been there, or have heard stories we would love to hear them. Let us know if Okie Panokie really is haunted.

I visited Okie Pinokie 2 different time's in tha Summer of 05 and I'll tell you what I know of tha place.
Visit Number 1:
We arrived at 4:00pm to get a feel for tha area. We hiked tha trial closest to tha river. As we was walking we came to a area that that several different trail's, while debating for which trail to take Jay-R dropped to his knee's pulled out his knife and started to dig into tha ground. I was like what are you doing and then I seen he was digging up what appeared to be a child's skirt. With us both having duaghter's we would of guessed that if it was a skirt it fit a little girl no older then 4 year's old. We then talked about tha skirt for maybe 10 minute's and about how it could of got there.
After that we deceided to take tha trail that headed back but off to tha right abit. About 50 yard's from tha skirt I got startled there was a hunter leaning against tha tree and I didnt even see him till it was to late. We asked him if he's heard anything unusual since he has been there and he said no and that was that. As we continued futher back it got really swampy.
We travled from one side of Okie Pinokie to tha other side. Upon reaching tha road at tha far side we decieded that we'd take a different way back. As walked and walked not having any uneasy feeling's or anything. We was about 100 yard's from tha car when we decieded to check some of tha small creek bed's for something that could put Native American's into that area since rumor had it that it could of been a burial ground of some sort but found nothing.
When we got back to tha car we decieded we'd cross tha river and take a look on tha other side. When we got to tha middle of tha river we looked up and down river just to see what was around. From where we was we thought we seen a cave about 100 yard's down river so we waded our way down there to it be nothing.
We got back to where we first was in tha river we continued to tha other side. There was how should I say a sand bar. Well we climbed up into tha field which revealed nothing. It was a disappointment since we had to get soaking wet to get there and found nothing. Upon going back when we got to tha sand bar we made our discovery. It was a hollowed out bone of some sort that was made into a pipe.
Visit Number 2:
This time we arrived at around 9pm. I had my wife (Jerrica) our Timberwolf Cujo and my cousin Kenny and his girlfriend Jenn with me on this trip. They had seen tha bone and asked where I found it so I lead them to tha edge of tha river to show them. I was telling them what all happened tha first time when I heard tha brush moving from up tha path. We killed tha flash light's and waited. Cujo started to growl but tha sound kept coming so I pulled my hunting knife and bent down to one knee.
I then seen a dark figure moving toward's me took my knife in hand ready to throw it when Jerrica turned tha flash light on and we realized it was a young kid trying to scare people. We asked him what we was doing there and why. He stated he was fishing and seen us pull in and since he heard rumor's of people saying it's haunted he decieded ot try and scare us.
He said he goes out there quite often to fish and that it's not tha first time he has done this to people. I asked him if he has had anything unusual happen to him and he said no. We tried to carry on into tha wood's but everywhere we went he would follow trying to scare us so we decieded to quit.
As you go into Okie Pinokie and get back to where it circle's right before tha circle is a pull off and that is where tha guy parked his car to fish. You cant see it coming in or out so I'd say walk down there and take a look before you start your investigation so that he dont ruin it for you.

I have been to Okie several times and some nights there is nothing happening out there and other nights its just not a good night for some people to be out there with all the spirits running around. There is many things happening out there especially during the summer. The best nights to go out there are on a night there is a full moon. If u sit in the circle (the witches circle) and everyone is quiet then one person whistle and the longest it has ever taken for me is about 5 mins. for someone to whistle back.

My wife Kathy and I went to find Okie Panokie a couple of weeks ago during daylight so that we could find it at night for when we go back. Kathy is very sensitive and she saw an indian running through the woods without a shirt on. We heard what sounded like someone speaking in some unknown language, possibly whatever tribe once lived there. We definitely plan on another trip in the near future.

Yes Okie-Pinoke is really haunted. A lot of people have done a one-stop approach here and were surprised they didn't find anything. The entire area is haunted. I know a little of the reasons. In my mind it is the most haunted place I have been, other than in my own mind. Heh. By the way, what was the place it was tied with? Central State? Stepp?

Been there: wasn't particularly impressed. Nothing stood out. Although, I wouldn't mind visiting again, despite the trip.

In the summer of 2006, I went out to Okie Pinokie with 6 of my buddies. We went at about 1 in the morning on a decent night. It wasn't very cloudy and there was a half moon. The night was decently lit. We started driving down the gravel road to get back to the woods and we passed a couple of people on horses at 1 in the morning....I'm pretty sure they were hunting, so I've never really thought much about it. As soon as we started driving into the woods, I really started getting chills. We parked in the circle and got out to start whistling. We whistled for quite a while, but heard nothing. We eventually decided to venture further into the woods and we went down a trail with our flashlights. We went about 25 yards into the woods and killed the lights to start whistling some more. We were about to leave because none of our whistles were being returned and then out of no where about 10 yards in front of us we see a 2 foot wide circle of light in front of us. It wasn't really that bright, and it didn't shine beams like a flashlight. But it definitely glowed, almost like a giant light bulb. We all turned our flashlights on almost immediately and after about 30 seconds of us just staring at a stump and a couple of really thin trees, we started asking ourselves what the hell that was...there was nothing there. A stump and a few skinny trees, and nothing else. We booked it out of there, and to this day, none of us can come up with any logical solution of what that was. I've never seen anything like it in my life.

One night me and about 10 friends went there. It was Friday The 13th of this year and about 11pm. When we got there as we were going down the road its true that the trees somewhat whistle and begin to intertwine with each other over top you. When we got out of the car we all started whistling and nearly 10 seconds after we all got done we heard a faint whistle and cry back in the wood. When you are there you feel a great feeling of being unwanted. We walked back but quickly came back because we seen many floating glowing balls of light flash acrossed the path and sounds of a little girl screaming for help. I am planning on going back this weekend actually. I will be sure to take pics.

You honestly need to make more than a couple of trips to any location to conduct a fair investigation, especially with a place like OP that has a lot of ground to cover. Consider yourself lucky if you get results on your first outing.
