cemetery on South Haven outskirts

Ok. I've been wondering this for a while, and I'm hoping someone can either tell me more, or clear some of this up.

Off of McCool rod leading out of South Haven there is a road. The golf course is on this country road, and if you stay on it long enough it will take you to 49 (I THINK this old country road was Robbins road, but I don't know what they call it now).

But anyway....if you stay on this road, you will eventually come up to a gated cemetery. It will be on the right side of the road if yo are coming from McCool.

Now I know there are lots of old farm houses around, but I'm really curious as to why this cemetery is here. And why it's so well kept and gated. There's even a light over it (Which I guess makes taking ghost photos almost impossible).

I was wondering if anyone else has been doen this road, and has seen it, or if anyone has sctually gone and explored it.

I'm also wondering about one other thing. There's this trailer park on McCool called Pleasent Valley. I have been told by several people that if you go to the way back of the park, you'll come to the woods and if you go into these woods, there is an old cemetery.

I have indeed been to where this cemetery is supposed to be. The place is gated, but the gate is never locked. You have to go down to this place where they store extra tools and stuff for general maintnance of the park, then there's the woods.

If you look you will see stais that lead down to a path and into the woods. But when I went it was too dark (even with flashlights) and the stairs were COVERED in poison ivy. So I didn't go back into the woods.

But I'm wondering if anyone else has heard about this, and has gone into these woods, and have actually found the cemetery.

And if so, do you have any pictures?

It could be a family cemetery or maybe whoever owns the land keeps it looking nice. I know there are quite a few cemeteries around my area that are no longer used, but look like somone mows the grass every week.

I'd be glad to help you research the cemetery. Is it Robbins Cemetery on County Road 875 N just east of the golf course? I'll do some searching to find out if there is a cemetery by the trailer park.

I did some research and found a cemetery behind the trailer park. Its called James Cemetery and looks like it runs next to the toll road. On google earth, if I zoom in, I can make out headstones. Heres a picture

Thank you! I'm wondering how to get back there. The one path isn't safe (We re-looked at it the other day...not good at all. Not only is there poison ivy everywhere and the steps down to the path don't look safe at all.) It looks like maybe if we're careful there's another road that leads off of the first left turn. So, I'm going to suggest that we try that the next time we go.

About the one on Robbins road...yes I think that's 875 N. I know you see the golf place, then you go further down and the cemetery is on your right. I thought about it, and I think the people in the closest house take care of it, but I don't think it's on their property, so I'm wondering if you can go there and take a look around or if you'll get yelled at/police called on you.

You could probably go take a look around during the day. But at nite, people get a little weird about seeing cars in a cemetery. If you went late enough at nite, around 2-4am you could probably get away with out being caught. It depends how much of a risk taker are you? I try not to brake any laws if possible or draw too much attention to myself.

You may even be able to go talk to the people at the house next to the cemetery. They may have alot more info then you will find on the net or may just tell you to get lost. either way it can't hurt.

yeah that is a good suggestion to go later in the night.. I had never heard of a cemetery behind the trailer park but would love to check it out.. thanks for the extra info..

ya me and my buddy josh aka iceman will probably go check it out this saturday. and we are planning on going to the one behind pleasant valley

yeah, we are probably gonna check out the one in pleasant valley, dngerous or not, the temps are dropping and winter is coming so it is gonna kill off that poison ivy and we will just have to be careful getting down, cuz I know Zeros said it isn't very safe.. SO thank you guys for some of the information and help.
