Greets all
My wife and I have a weekend free of children, and she is a huge horror freak. I personally have never been scared from movies and want not. We both would like to find a spot were she could get her kicks, and maybe I could get a thrill also! We live in Noblesville, but we are ready to travel. We have this three day weekend coming up to go somewere, then the kids are back. Help us out.
p.s. We have a digital camera, so there will be pics afterwards posted here. Thanks!

We don't know a lot about haunted places around Indianapolis since we are from Northwest Indiana, however there are a few that I find interesting. Frankfort - Haunted Railroad - Legend is that if you pour baby powder on your hood and stop right near the train crossing and turn your engine off then start it back up and drive across it you'll come to find children's hand print all over your hood! there are other strange things going on in this place! You have to go to find out. Frankfort - Sleepy Hollow - if you go over the railroad tracks there will be evil handprints on your car. A kid got killed there too, and every few years, there is a big white cross emitted out of the middle of the stream. Frankton - Old Train Trestle - In 1947 a young lady was on the bridge contempt on committing suicide. She had come home to find her husband cheating on her. She went to the train trestle, and waited for a train, then ran out in front of it. On foggy nights you can hear her screaming, and see her walking across the bridge. Battlefield - The Battle Field Memorial - Back in the 1800's there was a terrible battle fought on the grounds where the memorial is. If you are anywhere close to the creek right after dark, then you hear battle cries and see human forms running through to woods. You also can never fall asleep out there no matter how tired you are. Lafayette - Harrison Cemetery - People who visit this place always have the feeling of being followed or being watched. This places if located right behind Harrison High School . It is ok to visit too. The gravestones are very old and been know to move to different locations. Crying and moaning can be heard on some nights. Beware some of the ghost are known to touch and throw objects. Lafayette - Pythian Home - It is an old Nursing Home where many of the people who lived there died. There are many things that happen in there from lights turning on unexpectedly, to hearing footsteps, and even feeling something brush up against you. One of the stories are, there was a murder in on of the bathrooms. When the body was taken out, three women went in and cleaned it up. One of the women new the girl that was murdered and she went back to pay her respects. When she walked into the room, she found exactly as it was before they started cleaning. Now around the time of the anniversary of the girl's murder, all the gore returns. There still is no use cleaning it up. It still comes back. Rennssalaer - Moody's Light - Way out in the farm fields a man is said to carry a lantern up and down the road that his family lived on. The light, it changes shape, size, and color throughout the night. I got all of these from our haunted places of Indiana list, www.angelfire.com/theforce/haunted/hauntedplacesofindiana.htm. These are just some that I find interesting, just check the list out and try to find some that find interesting to you. The hardest part will be trying to find the location of the places. Good luck on your trip. [glow=blue,12,300]T-Bone[/glow]

Thanks T-bone, I think we are going to try to hit the Haunted Railroad, then the old Train Trestle. I will be sure to take plenty of pics. Then if we still have time we may head to the battlefield, if I can get directions. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks again

As for the Battlefield, don't even try it at night. It's too heavily patrolled. You can still get some great pics at twighlight, though.
The Pythian Home in Lafayette was used yearly for Lafayette Jefferson's Haunted Mansion, but was closed two years ago due to deadly mold growing in the walls. It will most likely be torn down soon. The most you can do when you go there is stand outside and look (which will still get you in trouble) because the place has a security system. It's definitely haunted, though. My Mom worked there when it was still a nursing home. She's got some great stories.
As for Harrison cemetery in Lafayette, it's a neat site. It's hard to locate and very small, but it's creepy. I've never had anything paranormal occur, but the place will give you the willies. If you have trouble finding it, it's because they literally mean right behind Harrison High School. You have to pull into their back parking lot to get there. It's directly to the right of the tennis courts. My husband went to Harrison and didn't even know it was there. LOL.
