my friends and i have been searching for ghosts everywhere, we;ve been to Dog Face Bridge, Mudlavia, Hells Gate and many more, we went out to peru the other night in search of this place and we found the right road and the circle drive. but does anyone kno which path ur suppose to take in the woods? we walked along a couple different ones but didnt get too far into the woods because of the mud. but i could really use some help so we dont walk for miles down the wrong one. other than that i didnt see nething out there. has anyone else been out to see anything there?

Is anybody still on this forum? hmm...I'm going to Okie Pinokie tonight (9-9-06) about 11ish or so. It says no trespassing, but will the cops come chase you off? This is something I need to know for tonight. Please let me know, thank you (Can always email me-which should be able to see)

Yes, Okie Pinokie (officially known as Frances Slocum State Forest) is owned by the state of Indiana and looked after by the DNR. The good news is, during the day anyway and you may have to pay a gate fee, it's perfectly legal to be there.

i dont know if anyone is still reading this or not but i have been to okie pinoki many times. every time i have been there i have never once seen a cop. however we have come across hunters. so if you go make sure you wear brighter colors because we have been there and heard gunshots before. also out of the numerous times i have been there we have only had something happen once. we were walking down the path you drive on and we heard what sounded like footsteps behind us. we also heard something that sounded like someone walking in the water. then it sounded like the tree above us snapped and was going to fall but we looked up and nothing happened. that was all in one night. and that was our first night there. nothing has happened since. heck weve been so bored there lately we decided to walk across the river just to have some excitement. so all in all this place sucks. but if you go i wouldnt worry about cops. i have never seen any.

Well paranormal activity typically only occurs a small amount of the time that anybody is around. To do a proper investigation you'd probably have to go out there everyday for a couple weeks, especially in a place like OP where you have a lot of ground to cover.
Also sometimes certain spirits/ghosts are drawn to a specific person, and they will get more activity in a certain area than someone else. From what I understand Scrudded/Scott has had a lot of activity at OP, I've had a lot of luck with Dan's Run/Mountain Grove Cemetery, and zeros gets loads of activity at Dogface and pretty much everywhere else she goes.

Yeah..it's pretty rare for something not to happen when I'm there, lol. I guess they like me for some reason. Maybe because I'm very open minded? I don't know. It can get scary at times because I'll be the only one that they seem to want to come to and no one else.
But yeah...paranormal activity doesn't always happen on command. But that's the fun in ghost hunting. You never know what could happen.
I would love to clap my hands and have that scream happen again at Dogface so I could get it on tape, but that's never going to happen (and this was the first time I was ever out there).
That's why I hate it when people visit a place once and give up on that place just because nothing happened the first time (I guess I'm lucky that something does happen 90% of the time).
But I do understand that some places it is hard to go to more then once (such as OP would be for me because it's too far), but just because you don't have anything happen doesn't mean that place isn't haunted.
Sometimes ghosts get spooked off by too many people being there (with gypsies being the exception to this rule. Whatever was there did NOT want all of us in that cemetery and made sure we were aware of that. I think that's why when any of us from that night go back there, something happens. I know one person from that night who gets nose bleeds everytime he gets to the back of the cemetery where the woods are. Everytime I go there the shadow beast stalks me until I leave).
But sometimes things don't happen even when I'm around. I have been to a place that is near here (where personally I think Indians are burried. I have my theories and with some of the history of the Dunes...I might be right.) that we can get the woods just hopping and going crazy with activity one night, but then it will be dull the next night we are there.
Also, I have heard from quite a few people that the more popular a haunted spot is the less activity that happens. That's why I like hearing of places from other people (and not just from the web). Such as the KOP. I only know of this place because of word of mouth. There is an entry for it on the haunted places list...but I'm not sure how true it is. I have been there once and I want to go again (but it's like pulling teeth trying to find directions because no one knows for sure where it's at. I've also tried looking for other investigations for the KOP but I have found none. It's a really good place though. It ranks number one on my list with dogface being close behind.)

Yeah it seems most of the time the more a place is talked about and traveled the less results you'll get. I'm guessing that has to do with a few factors:
1. the more a place is talked about, the more stories start emerge, the stories get exaggerated or distorted, eventually they just become down right untrue and you're looking for something that doesn't exist or expecting a different result.
2. The more a place is traveled, it's possible the spirits would become used to people coming through and thus stop them from causing activity. "Hey Jim check it out, more of them kids with flashlights. Don't worry they'll hear a squirrel in a second and then go off running and screaming back to the car. I've been putting up with this kinda crap for 80 years." - Ghost Bob
3. Then there's also the possibility the more word gets around about a place the more likely idiots will go out there and mess up things for the rest of us in a variety of ways.

Wow, it would take some effort to completely explore that place.
