Any plans to visit the Witches' Castle in Utica? (Clark Co.)
Does anyone think this would even be a worthwhile trip?(I know Shadowlands has removed it from their list due to in being invalid, but who knows!)

I heard that this place was torn down because the owners got tired of running people out of it (they were afraid of the liability if someone got hurt). One of the detectives on the Shanda Shearer murder case told me that it was not anything anyway but a block foundation and an old fireplace. Just what I heard so I have never tried to find it.

I just want to say that I've read the book about the Shanda case and that the Witches Castle does exist, I've been there, several times. The place was burned down and all that's left are the foundations of the place, but the small building with the fireplace still stands, it's really strange looking, and hard to find, as its up on a hillside off a small road. It's been almost a year since I've been there, so, yeah, it may have been totally demolished, as they were doing construction around that area. I will find out though, cause I am taking a road trip with a friend tomorrow to go there again, I'll see if it's still there! I have pictures too, from last time, I'll have to post em here real soon.

I've been there and I saw something crossing the bridge at the bottom of the hill and it was wearing what looked like a white dress.

I grew up about a quarter of a mile away from Witches Castle, also known as Mistle Toe Falls.I lived there for about 25 years and moved away in 1997 after the flood. The original owner of the house was a very religious man. My dad worked for him on weekends when he was young. My grandfather and uncle helped build the room at the top of the stairs. it was supposed to be used as a bible study room. My father also helped to build parts of the house. My mother visited the house a couple of times when she was younger also. They remember it as being very beautiful and peaceful there. The house was burned down in the late seventies or early eighties to cover up a robbery. The place wasn't considered evil until teenagers from out of town started hanging out there drinking and loitering. You could go there at any given time and find piles of alcoholic beverage containers littering the ground. They started the rumours of devil worshipping and witch craft taking place there. Which makes sense because at that time they were listening to bands that were considers satanic. Hence the satanic graffiti. After that the townsfolk started getting paranoid and superstitious because anyone looking for the place was usually up to no good and had nefarious reasons for being there. I just wanted to give everyone some background on the place. To verify, send me a message . I am not trying to debunk any paranormal activity in the area as I am an avid fan of the paranormal, myself being a pagan witch and have personally experienced the effects of an evil entity in the area where I now reside. I have a sensitivity to these things and have experienced them since I was a child. I am now 37 yrs old and don't blame the music before anyone comments on that because I am a fan of hard rock and metal bands myself growing up in the eighties, but I knew alot of the people that would sneak in there and party lol.
