I never got the big deal about orbs. They really are an easily explained phenomena. What an orb is, in most cases, is simply light on a reflective solid airborne surface outside the depth of field (or out of focus). In many other cases, an orb would be caused by a similar phenomena, but involving airborne liquid substances, such as rain. Depending on the distance these objects are from the lens of the camera being used and the lighting around the area will effect the probability, abundance, and sizes/shapes of orbs seen. I think the paranormal community would be doing itself a great service by dumping the claim that orbs are in anyway non-naturalistic. It's just bad hearing about these spirits when I can easily recreate them anywhere, whenever I like. But to answer your question: yes. That is an orb. But, it's nothing special. Don't worry about it. Your yard isn't haunted.

It's possible that they're orbs, but unlikely. It looks like the camera lens was just dirty and there was dust floating in the air.

Indeed they are easily created...but even "orbs" presented as evidence hold some worth. think about it, an orb/sphere/circle is one of the simplest building blocks of form, down to the molecules and atoms composing matter, all hold this universally recognized shape. moisture, even particles of light can all give this appearance when photographed..so, if there is an environment that is uncondusive for natural explanation, and the mind veers towards the evisural, we can assume that spiritual energy can also hold true to this..at its simplest. translation: i dont think orbs are necessarily evidence of spiritual existence, but more of spiritual presence..possibly the residual energy signature left by a spirit as it enters or leaves this plane of existence. IMO.

I've played around a lot with re-creating orbs. One thing I've found is that the "dust orb" always has a pattern inside it. The third pic in this post chipper955.proboards16.com/index.cgi?board=pics&action=display&thread=1160972026is one I'd pass off as a dust orb because of the pattern. The second picture is awesome though. ;D Heres one a friend took in Salem, Mass. on a ghost tour that had no pattern. The orginal picture was really dark, but the orb made me take a closer look. On the left side you can see someone in a checkered shirt, but there was supposedly no one in the picture when it was taken.
