Stagecoach road is known more for it's gang activity than ghost activity. You have to be careful going up there at night. Most of what you'll find is not only deer and such, but it's a favorite place for thieves to leave burnt out cars because it's in the middle of nowhere. That big sand dune you saw was the sight of a murder tho. I can't remember the details, but I can ask my Portage cop friend if you express interest.

the night we went out there i don't think we even had a car pass us. but it seems like a good place to drop off stolen cars and other stuff. thanks for sharing this.

Yeah that road wasn't really fun to go to, it was pretty boring.

Stagecoach has a reputation for being haunted. Contrary to belief though typically any "paranomrmal" activity that occurs is later debunked by local teenagers who were the source of it. I myself have to admit to a few pranks there in my first year of high school. People live on that road and are constantly annoyed by the storys and pranks that surround it. On a nice night in the summer there are kids all over the place. It's a known spot for drug and gang activity as well. Nothing paranormal about the road though, just a dark out of the way spot that is easy to get spooked at.

As hard as this might be to say....i have heard many stories of that road....MANY...and one night after traveling down that road over and over...i went with my ex and his mom "ghost hunting" and we had a camera, I for some odd reason got a real weird/excited feeling right by the big dune...we were there for about 15 min... i actually stepped outside...which i would have never done...because yes gang activity around there and who knows what else ...and his mom took a picture of the sand dune and there is one TINY tree shrub right off the road... she took pics of that and then my ex took one of me ....ok we got the pictures back....she showed them to me...and in three of the pictures we took .... there was a BIG noticable orb!... it looked like its was in the shape of a head...its oval and looked like it had ears.... one picture it was in the distance....like in the middle of the dune...almost back by the trees...the next picture it was then right next to the shrub....and the next picture right next to my hand in the picture....now i MAY be able to get ahold of those pictures for you guys so u can tell me if im seeing things....but omg....to feel like that on just that certian area....and then get the pictures back and see that! And anyone that has been to stagecoach knows the area im talkin bout....they call it "dead mans curve" with the big sand dune and big eletric towers. I sure as hell dont think i lucked out that one time when i went there...

That road lived up to our expectations when we went there, absolutly nothing happened. We probably will never go there again. I wouldnt recommend it either to anyone, only if they want a waste of time.

I've had a few strange experiences on this road, but you do have to be very careful. Kids (like me) go down this road very fast because of all the curves and such. That was the whole point of why I went out there one night with a few people.
We were wanting something exciting to do, so we all pilled into my car and went out there.
I've heard the stories about Witches hill (The big sand dune. The rumor is that if you go past it and flash your headlights, a white car is supposed to follow you with high beams on until you reach the end of the road, then it vanishes), and we all thought that it would be funny if we actually did do what you're supposed to, and flash your headlights while going by....Well the kid driving my car did....we even stopped the car, and some of us got out, while my friend (I'll call her "Sam") stayed in the car. She was feeling this weird feeling, like someone was squeezing her. We decided that we would take her home, and the rest of us would come back later in the evening. Around 2 or 3 in the morning.
So me and 2 other people went back out there flashed out lights as we went past the hill, and drove down the road. Well, we decided to pick up one other person, go do Stagecoach again, and head down to the beach. So we went by the hill, and flashed the lights. Drove down to 12, turned around and did it again. But this time, when we did it, me and the other girl looked back, and we saw very bright lights at the top of the hill flashing at us. It lasted for a few seconds, then stopped. It freaked both of us out pretty good. We didn't tell the boys until later, because we didn't want them to freak out.
It was all very weird, and it has not happened ever since then. I used to go out there every weekend with my friends, and I have never had that happened ever since that night. The odd thing, was that the air seemed heavier that night. And Sam told us that she felt something squeezing her stomach. Then we saw the lights, and it was all just weird.
But do I think it's haunted? No. Just because I had one experience there that can be easily disproved, doesn't mean anything. When my dad lived here, he used to go down Stagecoach and deer spot, and he has never had any odd experiences there.
But you have to be very cautious going out there. Since they are building a few subdivisions on that road, there has been more cars, and deer are EVERYWHERE! Also, like someone else has said, this is where people like to stash stolen stuff. A few weeks ago, there was a robbery, and the cops found a safe in the woods on Stagecoach. I have also heard that if the cops see your car parked along the hill, they will give you a ticket or ask you to leave. I have seen a few cops out here, so just be careful.

I have seen a few cops out here, so just be careful. i have been out to stagecoach multiple times. what i know about it is that an axe murderer killed 13 or more people and burried them on the road. Also witch craft is taken place between 10pm-5am central time. i personally have experienced the spirits and other strange happenings that have gone on. If a spirit contacts you, or you hear its chanting you will see dead people hanging from the 1st,2nd, and 3rd set of towers near dead man's turn. today i spoke to the spirit of death because it was in both of my friends. I am currently training to become a warlock like my friend that was taken over by the spirit. If anyone has any other questions feel free to email me at: bigbird13512@hotmail.com

yeah i would just like to say that i believe that road is haunted. back in the day we used to drive down it all the time. i don't anymore but one when we drove down it, we were toward the end probably about 3/4Th's the way down the road closer to 20. and it gets to a part where there are no houses around and there are some turns and they say that you will see a guy in a steelers jacket smoking a cigarette and a pair of thick glasses and a hat and with no face. they say he walks down the road like around 10:30 ish - 12:00 pm...anywhere around that time, has his hands in the pocket and just steadies walk. well they say he disappears on the road where he got killed. but one time we were driving down the road and sure enough we saw this guy. we turned around in the next driveway after i had noticed him and we went back to that part of the road. the driveway wasn't far from it so its not like he had any time to run else where but he wasn't there. we slowly drove down the part and even turned back around and he was gone. no where to be seen. and where he disappeared is supposedly the spot where he died. creepy and freaked us out!
also to add to the comment on the sand dune hill where the people had seen the white lights. well we were driving down one time and we to saw headlights on the other side of the hill. i know of the hill called witches mountain not dead mans turn but either way its creepy as well. one time i saw like a falling star or some type of white light fall from the sky and land on the other side of the hill. we went around the turn and there was nothing there.
also...the towers that are right next to the sand dune like the 3rd one right by the turn theres supposedly to be someone hanging there that you seen at midnight on Halloween. I've never seen it but one of my friends has and my brothers friend knew a cop that said they were called to the hanging when it happened so they say someone really hung them selves...so...I've yet to see that one but would LOVE to!!
so there are stories its just a matter of getting there the right time to experience them

I have been down stage coach many times.. nothing to big, but some well odd occurances have happened.. odd noises and weird animal I (and my friends) couldn't make out, and what sounds to be people creeping around the place in the woods at times because of heavy footsteps we have heard.. otherwise I haven't really even seen anybody go down the road.. maybe 2 cars and a cop in all the times I have been out there..
