Hi, I read your about your investigation of Posey just a few minutes ago, and I live about 10 minutes. I have been there quite a few times, and have found absolutly nothing to convince anyone that the place is haunted. It is, in fact not even a creepy place. It is a very well groomed cemetary, with new graves. I would like to dispell some rumors however. The chapel was burned down in the 1970's. In fact my mom knew the guy who set the chapel on fire. From what i understand, and this may be incorrect, but there was an older church, which was also burned down, then rebuilt. Or it was the original chapel that burned down in the 70's. As far as the preacher hanging himself from the tree, that is a myth. I think it has some "legend" around it because it is in the middle of no where. I do have a couple of interesting stories, although I believe the following with the car is a lie. One, when some people i went to high school with left the cemetary, the accelerator got stuck, and they could not shift out of gear, or turn the car off, until they almost crashed. Two, when several of us were leaving one night, one of my friends violently vomited every time he tried stepping over the gate, this went on for several minutes. And three. a pack of coyotes closed in on the cemetary while we were in it. I hope this interests some of you, but I just wanted everyone to know, theres not really much there except a lot of rumor.

in our first two investigations we really had no sucess. so i believe you when you say that the place isn't haunted. but i have also heard stories from people who will never go to that cemetery again. thanks for sharing the story with us.

I went there on my first date with my soon to be husband....at we are both into this stuff...so at first i thought it was just a way for him to put his arms around me...but it wasnt he was actually a lil up tight about the presence we both felt when we stood under the shelter and right next to the tree. I took many pictures and I will look over them, but never found anything. BUT I did hear something that night...well that morning...it was roughly 4 am when we went. We stopped completely in the middle of the cemetery and didnt even breath...there was two men talking over in the far right hand corner of the cemetery. I was scared so we walked up over the lil hill and up by that tree in that area....a womans voice faintly humming!....and the tree...i went up to touch it and the evil pouring out of that thing was just horrible...but i want more evidence...i wanna make another trip out there....last time i was there was early october of 2004. I will let u know what happens on our next adventure out there!

The posey chapel. One of the most haunted places in indiana or at least supposed to be. We have now been there several times and we have never ever had anything happen to us. I would love to go to sleep there because its so calm. I would recommend this place if you need to catch up on your zzz's.

I've been to posey three or four times now, and everytime we went something new happened. The first time we were dissapointed because we didn't here a thing, but when we were about to leave (walking the path) we heared someone gasp! like they were in pain. the second time my friend kerry decided to take a walk by himself, and as he walked the path he felt the back of his leg burn, like fire was being held to it. there is also a spot that when my sister and i walk past it (the last two times we have went) the wind picks up quite abit, and we heard many many footsteps! also we walked past a grave and heard someone on the other side kick it! also there was a broken grave, and when i whiped leaves off of it there was a hand with the finger pointed at me. the third time (just last night) it was still sort of light when we got there, and we didnt here much. but as we walked we heard a loud bang like someone slamming something down. we took a video camera and angled it at a few different parts of the cemetary, then left it alone while we walked, i havent watched it yet, but if i see something i will be back to tell!

they built a thing over where the church was built down. It doesn't look that interesting anymore. It does have some old graves and whatnot, and on the way there it looks freaky in the dark, but other than that it looks like an cemetary.

Posey chapel holds nothing special. Just orbs. I've visited the site three times now with my fellow investigators, and the scariest thing that has happened was a little rabbit jumping past us. The rabbit was really cute and fluffy, too...that didn't help with the scariness...

I know this one is haunted. I went twice, and will relay both experiences. The first time was about midnight, I was 7 months pregnant, and we were on a visit to my boyfriends hometown (Michigan City). We were driving around with his cousin, and they decided to take me there. It was creepy enough going down the road, which was extremely dark and had no other cars. We pulled up, and they chose to walk up. I opened my car door and stood next to the car. I didn't want to run in my state. They walked maybe 15 - 20 feet from the car, and we heard a noise, kind of a muted yell. They both ran back to the car, and we left. The next day, I wanted to go in the daytime. We went again, this time I got out and we all walked up to the shelter. It sounded like it was going to fall down, creaking, but it looked like a sound structure. We walked out from under it because it sounded so bad. I then took a picture of my boyfriend by the tree (same one you guys have a pic of) and when we got the film developed, there is a hazy white thing next to him, kind of at an angle from the tree. I would never go there again, it terrified me!
