Hi! I'm new to the Forum and want to share info on Hobart Cemetery. Grew up in Hobart and my family has lived there for over 100 years. None of us has ever heard this story about orbs or baby crying. However, my best friend (who is now a nun) and I spent many hours in the cemetery from 1969 to 1972 as ghost investigators (way before this became popular or accepted.) I am a sensitive and so is the nun. We don't "see" ghosts, but we are sensitive to energy shifts and changes. In all the hours we spent there, we never had any experience with baby cries or orbs. Have felt gentle touches, but nothing more. I can tell you that Hobart was once a town of many trains, and far off whistles did sound eerie in the night. Also, this cemetery was, and still is, used as a dumping ground for unwanted cats and dogs. Cats can often sound like a baby crying when distressed. These are just two possible explanations of the sound. My father was a Native American who was extremely sensitive and never sensed anything there either, except, once again, gentle touches which he felt was from family members buried there. My mother still lives in Hobart and is checking out the past ownership and story about 501 Indiana Street House. I attended Liberty School and remember walking by this house daily. I heard stories about it being haunted but not the story about Spencer and Mary. Mom is 72 and works for the local government, so she is researching and I will share with you any particulars of her finds.
