I've seen a number of horror movies and while a lot of them have sucked, I have seen a handful of good ones. As for my favorite horror movie I would say Silence of the Lambs. It wasn't really that scary, but it was a great movie. If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it.
Also, I would say that the most underrated horror movie would be The Exorcist 3. Definitely skip the second Exorcist movie, but The Exorcist 3 is worth watching.

Hmm..I love horror movies, but I gotta tell u, I just hated Blair Witch. Sorry guys. A movie that really did scare the bejeezus out of me, tho, was "Show Girls" ;-) Suspiria's definitely worth a watch.

Children of the Corn freaks me out. When I first watched the film I was in a house that had a large cornfield behind it and it was night time. Later, I had to sleep in the basement because that is where the spare room was. I don't think I have ever been that scared in my entire life. Of course I was only like 15 or 16 at the time.
That movie has definitely had a lasting effect on me though. To this day I still cannot go in a cornfield or corn maze without freaking out at some point. Driving past cornfields late at night used to freak me out too, but I'm over that now... for the most part.

The religious aspect of the film as well as the setting in the cornfield and small town make it extra creepy. Most people I went to school with choose Children of the Corn as their top scary movie.

The fourth kind! KEEPING in mind that when i watched this i was IN Canada, more freaky the actual town it happened in, and being that that night i saw a white owl, though it didn't stare at me, i was so freaked out that my friend had to sleep in the same room as me, with the lights on! oh, and it was roughly, 12 A.M.
