If you're talking about the hospital make sure to take some pictures if you get permission to go inside Scott. ;D

if you download the picture of the large building and zoom-in, there are some weird shadows or something that appear to be faces. i haven't gone back to take pictures to see if they will appear again. the circle around the small building is just that we weren't sure what the building is.

Wilbur Wright Fish and Wildlife Area New Castle. The "No Trespassing" signs say "near or in" the buildings. You may want to call for permission.

I wonder if they would give you permission to check out a place like that, seems like there would be some liability issues.

most likely. i printed up a couple general affidavits for ppl to sign if they decide they want me and a team to investigate, but im not too sure officials would go for it. lol even if we brought the papers to sign!!

Part of the old hospital is now leased by the Henry County Community Corrections department. I take care of their phone system and I can tell you the place has pretty tight security these days with the disturbances at the prison. When I need access to the abandoned parts of the hospital, (to run a wire or work on the phone board in the basement), they have to call security at the prison to get someone with keys. So chances are pretty slim of getting permission to poke around. (I realize this is an old post but I wanted to share what little info I had.) The buildings in your pics are closer to the fish & game pistol and rifle range. The hospital buildings I'm writing about are right across the field from the new prison.

Hey did y'all ever get in here? I know after the riot this area has been pretty tight. Even the fish and wildlife guys aren't as cool as they used to be. Just try going to the gun range, there's always someone there looking over your shoulder. Some of the old buildings that are now inside the grounds of the prison were originall part of the village, but there is no chance of getting in now.
Anyway, The only part of the epileptic village that remains, outside the prison, are these few buildings. These buildings were mostly admin offices, and the larger one was maintenance and recieving. I don't think actual patients were ever housed in any of the remaining buildings. BUT, you should try and check out the old building that remains up near the gun range, just north of here. That building (can't be seen from the road, I only found with Google Earth) looks like one of the old residential buildings that used to stand on this side of 103. It's a bummer, really. There used to be some fantastic old buildings here that are all gone. Anyone remember the huge mansion that stood back there? You can see where it stood in the clearing just west of the creek.
