can you tell me the story behind dogface bridge? ive never heard of it. I've been wanting to check out Dogface Bridge for about a year now. Nobody else around here wants to go. This is what I have found so far. Dog Face Bridge - Back in the 1950's a couple were driving over a bridge heading out on their honeymoon, When a dog ran out in front of them the couple swerved and ended up driving off the side of the bridge still killing the dog Now there are 2 stories, one both died, and the there the male died but either way the woman's head and the dogs head was chopped off and they were unable to find the woman's body and the dogs head, Now it is said as you walk down the path there are 2 bridges the first bridge is weak and very old the second is the one they crashed off, It isn't even there yet you can see the Cement sidings from where it once stood. Supposedly when you go down the path you will see the body of the woman wearing the dogs head, if you do not beat her off of the first bridge and back to your car she will kill you, by supposedly eating you alive. There have been rumors of bodies found and people being shot at. As you walk you can hear strange animal snorting howls and growls , while the entire area is made of swamp and it is a known fact that, Wolves and Coyotes do NOT go near swampy areas. www.angelfire.com/theforce/haunted/dogfacebridge.htm

I've lived in a swampy low area for a long time, and while there hasnt been a wild wolf in stark county in nearly 60 years, I know coyotes do infact go near swamp area if they are so inclined. Smaller game such as rabbit and pest type animals. Dogface bridge is located in san pierre off of 10 and 421. Just north of the town towards the river. Cant miss it.

Oh my gosh. On bike? Where are you coming from?
And yeah...you CAN miss it because the directions have a flaw in them. THERE IS NO STOP SIGN on 500 s and 1100 w!
We got lost for about 15 minutes the first time until we finally back tracked enough that we found the road (1100w).

yep we went on bikes my frind lives in san pierre so it shouldnt have taken as long as it had we just kinda circled around the place until we saw the "bridge out" sign did you guys see any thing when you went... i didnt... just heard the clinking metal of the bridge... but it was kinda wierd that there was no wind and 300 lbs (my freind and i) shouldnt make a bridge like that really creak all that much...

Sounds like you just ent out on a bad night, my advice would be to try again if it isn't too bad of a trip for you. I only hope to see half the stuff zeros has saw out there, I don't know if I could handle that thing walking next to me like that.

Oh yeah...that was something I will NEVER forget....that was certaintly one of the single most scary things that has ever happened to me.
I still want to go back....maybe try to talk to this thing and see why it's there and what it is. It's obivously curious about us as it followed us a good ways before it took off into the woods.

If it can talk that is, I doubt you'd be able to do so with a dog's head. Man just thinking about it gives me chills.

I don't know....sometimes I wonder. I know that the first time I went out there there was whispering in the woods next to me....and we heard a lady scream and saw that huge ball of light come down the path and vanish.
Only when we saw the light we were right at the second bridge and we had just turned around to go back down the path, so the ball of light was about 20 ft in front of us and right before it vanished we heard a lady scream, then the light just darted off to the right and it was dead silent after that.
It was pretty creepy, but not as creepy as the thing following us.
I seem to always have something happen while out there....people who go there and don't have something happen are very lucky (or unlucky I guess, lol).
I do have to say that the dogs barking thing can be debated, as there is a weak spot on the bridge and when you walk across it the bridge makes this horrid noise that sounds just like a dog barking, however any barking in the woods I can't explain.

Yeah I'm pretty sure anyone who doesn't see anything out there should probably be thankful that thing didn't make itself known to them.

Yeah I'm pretty sure anyone who doesn't see anything out there should probably be thankful that thing didn't make itself known to them. I've been out there over twenty times. Spent hours in there all by my lonesome. Worst thing I ever saw was a pile of poop. The stories are bunk, and the location, although it may be a bit spooky at first, is child's play.
