The first correction should be for
The Belle Gunness Home . . . All that is left of the original home is foundation work. A gravel and Rock company now sits on the majority of the property. However, further back into the woods was her boat house and a little pond. That pond was shared property with some of my ancestors and its said that after feeding some of her victims to the pigs body parts my have been disposed of in that pond.
*i know it sounds crazy, but it's what my grandma told me*
Hangman's Road / Orelake Rd. / Hookman's Rd - These are all of the same roads. It should really be one entry. I have to admit though I have never heard any story of a Pirate out there. I think it's spin-off of the urban legend about a guy with a hook for a hand prying on young couples. During the summer when I'm home for school, I travel on that road nearly every single day, it's a nice shortcut. I have never experienced anything other than it being a creepy road. Though once on a bike ride, I saw a really grungy man sitting on a stump eating a sandwich in the woods at like 8 at night. However, the road has had a few tragic accidents as well as being a spot where murder victims bodies have been disposed off.
La Porte High School - I am a graduate of that school and never once heard of it being haunted. The restrooms in question are right next to the science classrooms and always tend to smell of sulfur. The banging locker thing is explained by the Mental Disabled classrooms being near this bathroom as well, lets just say they do not like to just "walk" down the hall without making there presence known.
La Porte Cinema - I'm confused on this one. Is this entry referring to the actually Movie theater that is standing today on Colfax or the old Cinema that used to be in the downtown area. I do know that in the woods adjacent to the Movie Theater still stand there used to be what was left of a burned out house that was pretty creepy. I found it once when I was in middle school, so no guarantee it is anywhere close to still being there.
All that being said. I like the website, though of course some of these haunted places with grizzly descriptions are exaggerated, but it's fun to get scared. If someone wants pictures or something of places in northwest, Indiana...let me know and I'll see if I can get it done.
