I have Google Earth, but I barely use it, unless it's something I can't see from Google Maps. Actually the bridge that's been torn down is commonly referred to as the second bridge, but I'm guessing that's only because everyone uses the bridge off W500S to get into the area. The bridges really aren't the highlight of that location anyway, it's the path between the two that typically has the most activity.

Its not a Romanian hotel. Its a Ukrainian Orthodox Monastery, St. Anthony's. The curator of the Starke county museum gave me the phone number for the local Orthodox branch, and it is currently disused because of an arson fire about 3 years ago now in mid October. Because of the arson and the fact that the law enforcement officers of Starke have no one in custody, it is worthwhile to mention that both of these places are heavily patrolled by SCSD, and bass lakes lake patrol.
The basement, which is where the map is drawn for those who are curious, it is a basement but it is not one of a hospital. There was no hospital in bass lake, the two M.D.'s who treated everyone worked out of the fire department up in Wynonna, which the building is now used as a Lions club if I am not mistaken.
back to the basement. It is there, yes. There is a furnace there, yes. It is coal/coke. However it was used as a private residence, and then a school before returning to a private residence prior to the 1900's, when bass lake was still the swinging place to be.

Also, the bass lake cemetery is in the wrong spot. You need bass lake lutheren cemetery. Its over on...I'd have to find it but its just about a mile from where you have it plotted. I thought it was the one on the curve too, till I examined every stone, and I do mean Every Stone. And checking with the lutheren church, to ask where they had been laying people down since inception, and I was on the wrong one.
It is on S 700 E just south of Toto road about a quarter mile. If you are heading south, it is on the right hand side.
The Monastery, for those inclined to see it is on S 700 E was well, however it is south of E 400 S by about a quarter mile. It too is on the right hand side if you are heading south.
Anyone know of a photo hosting service aside from photobucket, they took down some of my pictures saying they violate terms of service, when all they were in frame was gravemarkers, and place signs. The sooner someone can sugjest the quicker I can post my photo's.

Thanks for the corrections, I've always thought about planning a trip up to Bass Lake to check out the basement. A lot of information seems to be incorrect in that location. I actually prefer www.imagecave.com to photobucket personally. The only disadvantage is that you have to log in once per month or your account will be deleted.

Ah ok. Because I have photo's of the monastery, the basement, the graveyard. I also have photo's of a place called 'dead mans college' interior and exterior. And Prill school... and what I think to be sister Sarah's actual stone. I spent about 6 days in the genealogy room in 2 different library's and I think I've got it narrowed down.
Also have some good ones from Little Egypt, also known as Ewald cemetery. Troll bridge, primrose road..quite a few actually.
