Thanks for your input. We didn't have any luck when we went there. Afterwards we put it up on our worst places list. I really don't think we will go back. It just wasn't worth it, especially for all the hype it gets. Thanks again for the input.

I have heard amazing stories about Primrose Road but have never visited there. I used to live in South Bend but moved a few years ago to Nebraska. My friend though, lives on Brick Rd. not far from Primrose Rd. and has visited there a few times. I don't have any stories to tell of my own, but I would like to share one of hers: My friend, Casey, went to visit Primrose with her father and another friend of hers. They went to the end of the road and stopped the car and walked around a bit. Nothing happened. So they didn't think anything of it. The other friend, Danyelle, took some photos with her digital camera and Casey took one with a throw-away camera. Still nothing really happened. So they decided that they would leave. While leaving there was a car coming toward them that seemed to be going fairly fast with their head lights on. When they looked back after the car passed them, they couldn't see it. As if it had disappeared in thin air. After leaving they went over the state line into Michigan to get something to eat at a fast food place, only Casey and Danyelle went in, Casey's father stayed out in the car. While they were waiting in line a guy behind them said that he saw them leave...Casey and Danyelle were a little freaked out by this but did think much of it and started chatting with him. They later found out that he was from "out of town" and that he "heard" about Primrose and was visiting it while in town. Then suddenly he said that he had to leave and that he would be back. They watched as he left in an SUV. About 10 minutes had passed and they were sitting down eating, Caseys father had come in at this point, and the guy showed back up but in a different vehicle with a bunch of friends. When they walked in the guy just smiled at them and that was it. It just seemed a little weird to her that this guy was out there the same time they were and saw them leaving, also that he was in the same place they were afterward. She felt like he was following them. Another oddity that she told me about was that a few days later, Danyelle went to show her mother the pictures that she had taken with her camera and found that they were gone. That same night Casey went to bed and set her alarm clock to 6:40 so she could get up in the morning for school. She went to sleep and then woke up and the clock said 6:40 so she went into the bathroom and did her usual morning routine but when she went back into her bedroom to change the clock said 3:40... figuring that she must have read the clock wrong she went back to bed. Again she woke up and the clock said 6:40, so she went to the bathroom...then went back into her room to change and the clock said 4:40. This happened again, the clock read 6:40 and she got ready and went back into her bedroom and it read 5:40. And she went back to sleep. Her mother woke her up at 7 and said that her alarm didn't go off and Casey mentioned that hers didn't either. Now this doesn't seem like much, but I find it weird that something like this would happen. Casey never saw anything while she was at Primrose but since she has visited there strange things have been occurring. As for her picture that she took, she hasn't taken it in yet. But I will be sure to update anyone who is interested in knowing if there were any turn-outs. As for me, I'm going back to Indiana in April for Easter and I will be visiting Primrose that week sometime. www.freewebs.com/haunted_nebraska

Hello. New poster here. My friends and I investigated this road the other night as well and we also didn't see anything. We went through it twice, and the only thing to me that seemed to be 'spooky' were the trees.
One of my friends said there used to be a house with candles all around it about 10 years ago, but was not there anymore. Anyone know about this?

I wanted to go out of curiosity. I didn't experience anything the first time, or the second time. However, the latter half of Primrose (the dirt road) is kind of spooky, even though nothing happened. I even used my cell phone without problems, and my car never died.
How long ago did the Primrose legend begin?

From what I understand this road has quite an old history. I have even heard stories of a person having been buried under the original spot that blood rock was placed. I have to agree with Anima on this. That road is not something that you can drive down 2 times and declare it to be a non haunted spot. As I mentioned above we went there many times and strange things only happened a handful of times. Regardless they did happen. To declare that a spot has no possibility of being haunted after only driving back and forth on it is not a very detailed way of investigating. I understand that it would take resources to be able to heavily study a place for more than one night or even for more than 10 minutes if you are not from this area. I have moved back to South Bend and I plan on doing some research on this place. I again strongly disagree with anyone who says that this place has no haunted presence and I would be willing to assist others in the area should they want to look into Primrose road further.

Blood Rock was removed by one of the caretakers of the area. He was tired of cleaning the graffiti off of it... It's in his front yard.

I just got back from Primrose Road and the Old Cleveland road area. I took my 14 year old daughter and her friend around 11pm tonight. Before we left for our "journey" I was reading on this website how the vehicle that was chasing a couple was an older red pickup truck and it was after they turned around on Adams Road. We drove down the paved part of Primrose until the stop sign which enters the dirt road in the wooded area. I usually don't scare easily, but as we approached Adams Road, what turned the corner and was coming right towards us was a red pickup truck. That freaked us all out. I must say, the feeling of excitement, fear, courage, and stupidity was overwhelming, as my daughter was curled up in a ball in the front seat with her friend, crying. She was so scared. However, we must have turned around 4 or 5 times, drove very slowly, even turned the lights off, and saw nothing. Then we ventured on to the cemetary just down the road on Adams. The gates were open and I was the only brave one to enter. I had a flashlight and my digital camera. I took a bunch of pictures and what appears to be "orbs" I think are just bugs. The girls saw a car coming so I took off back to our car. We circled around and tried it again. I informed the ghosts that I was just there to take pictures and I hoped it was okay with them and I didn't want to harm anyone or anything. The 2nd time going in, my daughter's friend went with me. Not more than 20 feet past the gates, I saw a dark shadow. I'm not sure if it was the shadows from us waving our flashlights but it did startle me. We left and drove down the dirt road on Primrose. Again, nothing. I think the sheer fear of rumors and what people THINK they see is what makes the venture exciting. I wasn't expecting to see anything, which is what makes me a believer, but I had fun none-the-less. I might go back.

You could you know... goto the St. Joe county library and like read up on that area. I live in Marshall county and use the local librarys referance area lot. They have enough on primrose road to fill a binder.
Since the people who moderate this forum dont seem to come around much I'll take a shot

I can only speak about my past experience's at Primrose. Ever since I was a kid I heard about Primrose. I live about 3 miles from there. Would often ride my bike out there and go walking in the woods. Ive walked almost every inch of those woods, on both sides of the road. During the daytime they are some of the most beautiful woods that Ive been in. Its interesting, on some of the trees there are initials carved in there with a date. Some of the dates that Ive seen on there are from the 30s, 40s, and 60s. In 2005, and 2006 I spent my Halloween nights in those woods. Iam a bit of a skeptic and I wanted to see something with my own eyes. Most of what I saw was people out there looking to see something. There were alot of teenagers out there looking for a thrill. I had fun with them by yelling and making noises. They would all scream and run back to there cars. They would always start looking in the woods with their flashlight and occasionally I would stand up and let them see me for a brief second. Good harmless fun. Sometimes I would drop a glow stick in the woods or along the road. I could hear the excitement in their voices when the would see it. I guess Iam still a kid at heart. I did see one weird thing. Both years that I went out there, I saw a blue light in the same part of the woods. Were I saw this light is about 200 yards back off the road. I know every inch of those woods and I know that there is no house or building back there. I thought that maybe it was somebody else out there, but I doubt it. I don't know what it was, but I saw it two years in a row. I went back out there during the day time after the second year that I saw it. I didn't see anything out there. I looked around there for about 3 hrs that day. I would have gone out there on Halloween in 2007, but I was stuck in Iraq. I will try to be out there again 2008.

OK for one the real primrose is not or even by South Bend it is in fact located in the state park of potato creek witch as i stated some were else is blocked off if you go 2 miles into the road and look to your left you will see a rock that looks to be bleeding and go about a 1/2 a mile you will come to the Primerose cemutary that is all run down.
you will experience things that can be explained and see orbs(with cameras also) and aparentines this i will vouch for seeing when i first found out were the real location was from my grandparents who went there in there younger days befor the state park was built
